RASTRA panels are large building blocks with a grid of internal channels designed for horizontal or vertical placement.
RASTRA is made of ThastyronTM, a mixture of recycled foam plastic and a cementitious binder. RASTRA blocks contain 85% recycled material and are energy-efficient.
RASTRA blocks have been used in all types of climates. From more than 30 years of use in homes, apartments, theaters, commercial buildings, industrial plants and institutional settings, RASTRA blocks have proven time and again to be:
- non-combustible;
- frost proof;
- mold resistant; and
- insect resistant
RASTRA adds to the thermal mass of the building. RASTRA is approved by U.S. and international codes such as ICBO and SBCCI.
RASTRA is produced in the United States under strict quality control in state-of-the-art plants. Underwriters Laboratories Inc. audits RASTRA production.
RASTRA costs less to use, less to transport and less to maintain than other building materials. RASTRA also is easy to use – it can easily be carved with standard woodworking tools. It can be cut, rasped or routed into almost any shape.
The ideal combination of physical properties of the energy-efficient RASTRA walls is unsurpassed by any other known building material.
